Words that I learned this week studying English = )
1 – chasing: verb (present participle chasing, past tense and past participle chased). To run after someone or something in order to catch them or it: The dog was chasing a rabbit. (caçar, correr atrás de, enxotar)
2 – noncommittal: adjective [not gradable] /ˌnɑn·kəˈmɪt̬·əl / . Not expressing a clear opinion or decision: The ambassador was noncommittal about the introduction of further sanctions.
3 – chipping: verb /tʃɪp/ (present participle chipping, past tense and past participle chipped). To break a small piece off something that is hard: She chipped her tooth when she fell off her bike. (lascar)
4 – pursuit: noun /pəˈsjuːt/ [no plural] the act of following someone or something to try to catch them: The police are in pursuit of a 25-year-old murder suspect. (perseguição)
5 – attempted: verb /əˈtempt/ to try to do something: He attempted to escape through a window. ( tentar)
6 – concocted: verb /kənˈkɑkt/ 1 – to invent a story or excuse: He concocted the story because he did not want to do his chores. 2 – To concoct is also to make something new from different things: He concocted a tasty stew from the leftovers.
